I am from an iron ore mining town in the Upper Peninsula of MI. During my college years, I decided to move to Tampa, FL with a friend. That is where I met my husband, David, who had just enlisted in the Air Force. We were married 8 months later and have been married for 26 years. The Air Force took us to Texas, for a short while, and then to California, where we spent the next 8 years. Here, I finished my B.A. in Social Science and we were were blessed to add our wonderful boys, Stephen and Matthew, to our family. While David continued his career as a biomedical engineer, I became a sales director in Mary Kay, earning two free cars. However, I missed and the U.P. wanted to be closer to family, so in 2005, we moved back to MI and bought a local pizzeria, completely changing careers for both of us. Shortly after, we purchased a Subway franchise, as well. Anyone who has ever worked in the food industry can appreciate the hard work that goes into that type of business. Also, during this time, I began teaching health and wellness through Young Living Essential Oils and at one point was leading 1500 members. Over time, we were both ready for something new and sold both restaurants. David started in the car industry, eventually becoming a finance manager and I started with real estate. We had a large network from our former businesses, so it was a nice transition. Our oldest son is now working in I.T. in Grand Rapids and our youngest son is also a real estate specialist with Keller Williams. David and I had always planned to return to FL someday, so we finally made that happen. Now, I get to service my amazing clients as the Director of Database Management for the #1 team in Southwest Florida within Keller Williams!
